Training and Development

  • 绿奴天花板 Ethics Training and Forms

    All 绿奴天花板 employees are subject to the  and its implementing published by the Department of Law.  Additionally, the University has a chapter in its Regents Policies and University regulations concerning Ethics and Conduct (04.10).  Training, forms, Campus Ethics Representatives and more detail can be located on the 绿奴天花板 General Counsel website.

  • Lunch and Learn Monthly Sessions

    绿奴天花板 HR leads monthly sessions providing updates to supervisors and an opportunity to directly ask questions of 绿奴天花板 HR leadership.

  • Supervising for Success (self-paced)

    Supervising for Success consists of three modules that cover topics from recruitment, through performance management, safety, support resources, benefits, and diversity, equity and inclusion.


Covers the topics of compliance, classification and compensation, recruitment, hiring and retention.


Covers topics of employee engagement, Board of Regents Policies and University Regulation, training, ethics,  Diversity, equal employment opportunity, safety, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Americans with Disabilities Act  (ADA). 


Covers topics of communication and crucial conversations, conflict resolution, workplace bullying, performance management and evaluations, professional development, progressive discipline, and organizational change. 


  • 绿奴天花板 employees indicated the importance of open and honest two-way communication, as well as the ability to share opinions candidly without judgment or retaliation. The Respectful Communication in the Workplace collection explores ways to facilitate and engage in safe and authentic communication by exploring interpersonal skills, respect, practicing positive communication, and overcoming the fear of speaking up. Consider completing these courses individually or as a team.

  • 绿奴天花板 Compliance Leadership for Supervisors
    This session was held on November 16, 2023 and is recommended for supervisors. The slide deck and recording of the session are available at the Compliance Awareness, Education, and Training page under "Supervisor Responsibilities".   Another helpful link is to the Compliance Chat videos.

Performance Management and Evaluation

  • This training includes a step-by-step tutorial on completing evaluations through My绿奴天花板, preparation for evaluations, the supervisor and employee's roles and who to contact for questions or issues will also be covered. 

  • This resource is a quick guide for proactive performance management on approaching coaching conversations, identifying strengths and discussing development, providing constructive criticism, along with examples of how to start these conversations. Contact 绿奴天花板 Labor and Employee Relations in advance of these discussions for additional guidance and support. This resource is also available in the My绿奴天花板 Performance Evaluation Training session listed within this section. 

  • This collection of courses offers supervisors skills needed for managing remote/ hybrid employees, shares tips for getting results at a distance鈥攊ncluding how to provide remote coaching and feedback鈥攁s well as building trust, setting reasonable boundaries as a long-distance leader, engaging employees, and more.

  • Giving effective feedback is difficult. Most people avoid opportunities to give constructive feedback and give infrequent and often unhelpful positive feedback. This session addresses strategies on how to deliver effective feedback at work or at home. The training will offer multiple examples and provide participants with ample practice to learn how to give feedback that helps individuals improve performance.

  • This course walks you through bottom-up, zero-based, commit, and stretch goals. Use SMART goals to change behaviors, build new skills among employees, make actionable goals, create a comprehensive plan for setting and implementing goals, and ways to deal with challenges such as conflicting goals.

  • Family Medical Leave (self-paced)

    This training provides information on what Family Medical Leave (FML) is, eligibility, amount of leave allotted, the process for requesting FML, responsibilities of the employee and supervisor, mechanisms that can be used to record leave, as well as the communications both the employee and supervisor can expect.


  • This training is designed to help better understand the employee lifecycle, and to be able to assist new employees as they onboard. 

  • This training is designed to help better understand employee leaves and how they interact: Family Medical Leave (FML), Leave Share, Parental Leave, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Short-term Disability (STD), and Long-term Disability (LTD). Learning outcomes will result in participants having a broad understanding of the leaves and protections available to 绿奴天花板 employees, an understanding of where to direct employees for additional assistance, and where resources can be located on the benefits website.

  • Offboarding Employees   
    • Separating Employees
      This page outlines how to submit an intent to separate from the university, benefits considerations, and information for supervisors.
    • Supervisor Actions (separating or transferring)
      It is the responsibility of supervisor to ensure their separating employees return all university related items issued to them (keys, computers, ProCards/ Travel Cards), and security accesses are addressed or revised.

      If an employee is completely separating from the university, security coordinators will receive an automated message at the time the employee鈥檚 position is ended in the system, however that is not the case for an employee transferring to another role within the university. 
      Contact both your 绿奴天花板 security coordinator and for assistance with a transferring employee.
