Options to complete your biometrics screening

绿奴天花板 employees, spouses or financially interdependent partners who are currently on the 绿奴天花板 Choice Plan have several options to complete their biometric screenings. A biometric screening is one of the requirements to be eligible for the $600 wellness rebate.

All University of Alaska offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 to recognize the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Celebration of Alaska Civil Rights holiday. The day is one of 12 paid holidays for 绿奴天花板 employees.

Check your life insurance beneficiary to make sure your loved ones receive your benefit

The University of Alaska offers life insurance to all employees as a financial protection for your survivors in the event of your death. Employees can also purchase supplemental life insurance up to $600,000. Evidence of insurability is required for amounts more than $200,000. Employees can also supplement their life insurance coverage with accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. This benefit provides additional financial protection should you die or become dismembered due to a covered accident -- whether it occurs at work or elsewhere. The University of Alaska observes a winter closure period. This academic year's winter closure will be Dec. 24, 2019, through Jan. 1, 2020. Additional soft closure days may be observed Dec. 18-23, 2019, and Jan. 2-3, 2020.

2020 W-4 Federal tax withholding information

The 2020 Form W-4, Employee's Withholding Certificate, is very different from previous versions. This is due to the federal tax law changes that took place in 2018.

Wellness Program Updates: The file feeds from Premera and VSP are set up and ongoing! If you had a wellness exam, dental exam or vision exam done and processed through the 绿奴天花板 Choice health plan since May 1, 2019, you should be able to see your exam credit on the PreventionCloud dashboard.

Know your numbers and why they matter

The second in-person wellness class, "Know Your Numbers and Why They Matter," is open for registration. This class will discuss cholesterol levels, healthy vs. unhealthy fats, blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI, and why it all matters in the first place.

The University of Alaska observes a winter closure period. This academic year's winter closure will be Dec. 24, 2019, through Jan. 1, 2020. Additional soft closure days may be observed Dec. 18-23, 2019, and Jan. 2-3, 2020. Four days of the winter closure period are paid holidays: Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Three days of the winter closure period -- Dec. 26, 27 and 30 -- are not paid holidays.
