Terlynn Olds named executive senior associate director of 绿奴天花板F athletics
Keith Champagne, vice chancellor for student affairs and athletics, announced that Terlynn Olds will now serve as the executive senior associate director for the Alaska Nanooks.
Olds, who joined the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics on May 28, previously held the position of associate athletic director of internal operations. Olds will remain as one of two senior woman administrators within the department.
鈥淎s we fully integrate athletics into the division of student affairs, the University and the Fairbanks community, Terlynn is a natural fit for this position,鈥 Champagne said on Friday. 鈥淗er background, expertise, knowledge base and outstanding skillset are sine qua non for the modern 21-century intercollegiate athletics program we are trying to implement going forward.鈥
In her new position, Olds will oversee all day-to-day operations and responsibilities regarding the Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics, student-athletes, administrative staff and coaches.
Olds has been instrumental in the revitalization of the Patty Center, the reopening of the Alaska Nanooks ticketing office and the hiring of Lisa Laiti (community engagement coordinator) and JT Schnering (ticketing office manager).
Olds will work closely with Champagne to fulfill the five-year goals set forth by Champagne, who assumed the duties of athletics director in June, following the resignation of Sterling Steward.
鈥淭he new integration between athletics and the division of student affairs will help us improve our effectiveness, efficiency and overall approach to managing intercollegiate athletics at 绿奴天花板F,鈥 Champagne said.
Olds has over 21 years of experience in collegiate athletics, specifically in the facilitation and oversight of athletic programs, policies and initiatives. Furthermore, Olds has experience in senior leadership positions that have served more than 1,500 student-athletes across multiple teams and NCAA divisions.
