Open Enrollment is NOW and goes through May 10
- April 15, 2019 Open Enrollment is here! This is your annual opportunity to change your health plan, add or drop
dependents, elect a Flexible Spending Account, supplemental life insurance and accidental
death and dismemberment insurance (AD&D). All changes you make now will be effective
July 1, 2019.
We're doing it all online again this year, so there's nothing to hand in or fax to HR. You can find all the details on our open enrollment web page, found directly from the benefits web site. Click the link for Open Enrollment where you'll find the Enrollment Guide, plan comparisons, rate sheets and links to other important information. When you're ready, the link to the enrollment form is right there on the page, no need to go to ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°åOnline first.
NEW THIS YEAR: We've enhanced the Supplemental Life insurance benefit by increasing the maximum amount you can choose to $600,000. To do this, we had to reduce the "increments," or the levels you can select, from $25,000 to $50,000. If you had supplemental life insurance at a $25,000 increment (for example: $175,000, $225,000, $375,000, etc) your coverage level will be reduced to the next closest $50,000 level. You can choose a new coverage level now to be effective July 1. You can still choose up to $200,000 of supplemental life insurance without any medical information.
You can verify your current life insurance coverage on ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°åOnline. - Also, the Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage has increased to $300,000 (it was $100,000). This means the premium you pay has also increased. If you don't want to keep this coverage, or if you now decide you want it, just make that change on the online form.
- The #1 question we get is "If I don't want to make any changes do I need to do open enrollment?" and the answer is no: if you don't want to change your health plan, covered dependents, life insurance (although see above), or AD&D, you don't need to complete open enrollment. BUT if you want a medical or dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) you do need to complete that part of the enrollment because the FSAs do not roll over into the new year.
- If you elected a Health Savings Account (HSA) at the beginning of 2019, you don't need to do it again. The HSA will continue for the full calendar year and keep going into the future until you change it. If all you want to do is change your HSA, we have a separate form just for that.
